Job Title : Researcher / Postdoctoral Fellow specialized in cognitive science, social psychology, and cognitive aging.
Project : AGEABLE – Aging, Memory and Stereotypes: An Immersive Embodied Virtual Reality Approach (funded by ANR PME AGEABLE)

Contract Type : Fixed-term contract (12 to 24 months, renewable) – Full-time Preferred
Start Date : Between September and December 2025 (flexible)

Project Context : The ANR-funded AGEABLE project aims to investigate the effects of age-related stereotypes and self-representation on memory, executive functions, and psychological well-being across the lifespan, with a particular focus on older adults. The project relies on innovative embodied virtual reality (IVR) methods and integrates social and cognitive neuroscience approaches.

Main Responsibilities

  • Co-coordination of the AGEABLE project
  • Assisting in the design of immersive virtual reality experiments (Unity, IVR, avatars) in collaboration with the lab’s VR engineers
  • Recruitment and experimental sessions with young and older adult populations
  • Acquisition and processing of neurophysiological data: EEG, NIRS, fMRI (in collaboration with partner platforms)
  • Advanced statistical analyses and multimodal data processing•- Writing scientific reports, publications, and communications
  • Collaborating with national and international project partners

Required Qualifications

  • PhD in cognitive psychology, neuroscience, neuropsychology, or cognitive science
  • Proven experience in neuroimaging (EEG, fNIRS, or fMRI) and experimental programming (Python, Matlab, E-Prime, PsychoPy, Unity…)
  • Data analysis skills (e.g., R, Python, BrainVision, Homer2/3, SPM, Fieldtrip…)
  • Interest in social psychology and topics related to aging, memory, and stereotypes
  • Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team
  • Proficiency in scientific English (written and spoken)•- Proficiency in project management and scientific coordination

Additional Valued Skills
•- Knowledge of embodiment methodologies in VR
•- Expertise in statistical modeling (mixed models, mediation analyses, machinelearning)
•- Sensitivity to ethical issues in research involving vulnerable populations, and an openscience approach
